The catch up post......

I figured it was time to sit down and update this thing. I haven't had a post since October of 2012 and my goal for this blog was to keep memories for myself of Tatum. HMMMMMM...

My 2 1/2 year old has grown leaps and bounds since you last read (you did right?) He talks a mile a minute, is obsessed with Thomas the train, oh and wait for it..........HE'S POTTY TRAINING!

That's right folks, this little boy who I just brought home from the hospital yesterday, is peeing and pooing in the potty! Ok, ok maybe I didn't bring him home yesterday, but it certainly feels like it! He is handling it like a champ and I never thought I would be cheering when someone showed me a bowl full of pee or poo, but guess what? Mama life changes you like that. You get excited over crazy stuff. And the sheer excitement in his voice and face when he shows me is enough to fill my heart to the brim. I will spare you the pictures that I may or may not have taken. He had a few minor accidents at Target earlier in the week (sorry for the puddle Target!!!) but has made huge improvement since then. I actually feel pretty confident in taking him out somewhere. I'm sure we will have our share of accidents along the way, but that's the fun along this mommy journey right?

I really want to keep this blog updated for myself. I'm sure I will continue to have a total of 2 readers (my mom and sister) but that's ok. It's a space to vent after some long days.  So enjoy, I'll try to entertain.

Disney on Ice

We took Tatum to Disney on Ice this past Saturday and he loved it! I was semi nervous because I just wasn't sure he would sit through the entire show or even pay attention to it at all. He couldn't keep his eyes off of it the whole time. He watched absolutely everything. I think his favorite part was the Fairy Queen from Tinkerbell. She wore this sparkly gold dress and he couldn't keep his eyes off her. When Mater and Lightning McQueen came out he said, "Whoa!" over and over. The Toy Story part of the show was great too and his face lit up at all the characters. Before the show started we took him to the souvenir stand and showed him a couple of things. As soon as the man pulled out the Buzz Lightyear sword he said, "I want that!" Boy can talk when he really needs to.

He also got his first taste of cotton candy which. he. loved. My sister and mom went with us and we had a blast. (He sat in Nana's lap the whole time.) My mom took my sister and me every year when we were little and it's a tradition I want to carry on with my children. It was so fun to see him so excited. I can't wait til next year!

Catch up as usual

As usual I haven't been posting on here like I promised myself I would :( Tatum is 15 1/2 months and saying sooooooo many new words every day. Dinodoor (dinosaur) and tutle (turtle) are his newest ones and I love to hear him say them. He yells for daddy when things don't go his way now and daddy usually rescues him. Usually. He says phrases like "where my shoes", "in da sky", "where (he,it) go", "let's go". He's starting to try to repeat lots of words we say.

Still has a terrible temper. He has been known to throw himself face first onto the floor of a store and kick and scream. He threw his paci at Dr. Joe out of anger during his 15 month check-up. He smacks at people when they try to hold him. But on the other hand will usually give them a hug as long as I'm still holding him. He's a mama's boy and I'm eating it up because all too soon he will say, "Me and dad are going fishing, bye mom."

He's working on getting his 1 year molars and he's having a really hard time with it. He gnaws on anything to sooth those swollen gums.

So for the sweet, mushy stuff.....he's precious! He makes me laugh every single day. He hugs and kisses on me all the time (in between tantrums). He says "awwwwwwwwwww" when I show him something I've bought him.

Oh yeah and he's growing up way, way too fast................

Bruised up

Yesterday we had a big boo boo day. Tatum thought he would run back and forth between the kitchen and living room as fast as he could. One trip his toe caught the carpet and he face planted straight to the ground. His poor nose caught the fall. I knew it was broken. But we took him to the Dr. today and all is well! No broken noses for my little guy :) Ahhh little rambunctious boy :) And I wouldn't have it any other way.

Bruised up....

Scuse me!

Trying to teach my little man some manners is paying off! I always try to make a point if someone burps to say, "Oh! Excuse me (you)!" Today while having lunch he lets out a loud burp and looks at me with a huge smile and says, "scuse me!" Is he the sweetest thing in the world? Why yes, yes he is!

I think this may be my favorite photo of all time...

I wuv ew!

Yesterday was quite possibly one of my favorite days ever! I was playing with Tatum and sat him up on my shoulders. He of course laughed like he always does. I then turned around and said. "I love you Tatum!" Guess what? He said, "I wuv ew!" Heart=melted. I just can't explain how wonderful it was to hear him say that. I told him to say it to daddy. He looks at Josh and says, "Wuv ew!" We both grinned from ear to ear. Were there a few tears from the mama? Possibly.

Look at these curls!

Yep, nana and I let him gnaw on that chicken wing.....

Love his little pj's :)

Slacker

So I promised myself I would write on this blog on a daily basis. Hmmmmmmm.......well it's been a while. I guess I feel like I have nothing important to write about but I know later I will kick myself for not keeping up with Tatum's daily antics.

Yesterday he thought he would take it upon himself to rip his diaper off, throw it aside, pee in the floor, and then run around naked. Yep, that's my kid. When I tried to put a clean diaper on him he shook his head, said no, and then proceeded to run around naked some more. Oh well, this is only going to be cute when he's little. Let's hope he does not want to do this when he's older, ha!

When watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Mickey asks if you want to come inside his Clubhouse, Tatum shakes his head and says, "nope". Want to be a part of Jake and the Neverland Pirates Crew? "Nope". Haha he cracks me up every single day! He also picks up the remote control and hands it to me then points at the tv to get me to change it if the show that's on at the moment isn't what he's interested in. Too smart folks.

Hopefully I can try this again tomorrow!
