Teething.....ugh

It's been a crazy few days here. My little man is cutting those top two teeth and they are just giving him all sorts of trouble. One thing that really bothers him when he's just about to have a tooth pop through is his bowels. Warning: TMI for some.....he's had really loose runny bowels. He's had at least 6 or 7 a day since Sunday bless his heart. He had a particularly bad incident on the porch while we were outside playing that resulted in me having to clean the porch. Yeah....good times. He let me massage his gums this morning and I think it helped him. The fact that he was letting me do it made me realize he must be hurting pretty bad.

He has been jibbering up a storm today and it is so funny and cute. He will look at me and hold his little hands up and jibber something to me. I talk back and he will jibber some more just like we are having a conversation. If I can catch it on video I'll post it here. He's also started shaking his head no today. I think he is trying to tell me when he is full because he's been doing it when I offer him a bite of food and it's always towards the end of his meals. That's really cute too and he thinks it's funny when I laugh.

Last night we had our Wednesday night church service outside at Mamaw and Papaw Hack's house. It was really nice to have church with them since they aren't able to come anymore. I know they enjoyed it. What was Tatum doing you ask? Playing in the dirt and gravels and screaming. But what can I expect? He's learning all sorts of new things and he's too busy to slow down. Can you blame him?

Have I mentioned lately he's my favorite little thing in the whole wide world? I am just so in love with him :)

Mother's Day

I had my very first Mother's Day! I counted my first one really when I was pregnant last May but this year my sweet baby was in my arms to celebrate. Josh surprised me with a new Vera Bradley camera bag. He picked it out all by himself and I love it! He said Tatum showed him the one to get ha! The highlight of my day? The 3 hour nap that Daddy, Tatum, and I took together Sunday evening. Tatum hadn't had a nap all day long so about 4:00 we snuggled up and he finally went to sleep so we all climbed in the bed. We woke up close to 8:00 and believe it or not Tatum was ready for bed by 9:30 after a late supper and bath.

I also attended a new Sunday school class at church for wives and mothers and let me tell ya, it's great! Our first lesson was centered on Matthew 6:33 and it is seeking Jesus FIRST above all else, because how can you be a good mother and wife if you don't have your #1 relationship  in order? I'm loving the class. I take Tatum with me and it is sort of a challenge, he is so busy now and learning to walk so he doesn't like to sit still at all. But I WILL NOT quit going. Even if I have to get up with him 500 times during the class, that is ok. I just hope he's not disturbing everyone else.

He's cutting his top 2 front teeth and they are hurting him so bad. He's gnawing on everything in sight. I'm hoping they will pop through soon. They've been trying to come through since he was 6 months old.

Hope you had a good Mother's Day! I know this post is way past due!
Pictures tomorrow hopefully!

Who me?

I'm throwing it away mom, NOT getting into the trash!

Oh, I was helping you put the Q-tips away.......

Mom, did you know these made that much noise when you throw them against the floor?

Ahhhhhh, my little explorer.....

Big steps!

That's right folks, my little boy took his very first steps ALL BY HIMSELF! Could I be any prouder? I mean really, that's a BIG deal! I have been following him around constantly with my camera because I knew it could be just any day. He has been walking behind a walker for a couple of months now and just recently has been wanting us to hold his hands and walk him around the house, yard, etc. So I knew those precious first steps would come sooner than I was ready. I mean technically he is a "toddler" now. Ahhh, it breaks my heart and makes me happy at the same time. Being a mama is so bittersweet. So where did it happen? I naturally thought it would happen at home since that's mostly where he gets brave and tries it. But, no. My sister and I met Kayla and her babies at Relay for Life on Friday night. I ran into an old friend that I hadn't seen in like a year and was trying to catch up with her while my sister graciously wrangled my child. She had him down on the grass playing when the next thing I knew she was yelling at me to look. He took one little step and I freaked out! I mean tears came to my eyes I was yelling and clapping, there were a million people around probably wondering what was wrong with me. Did I care? No, my baby just had a very important milestone and this mama was going to celebrate it. On the other hand, he thought something was wrong and started crying. So, note to self, do not freak out because you will scare your baby and he will think walking is something bad. He took 4 more steps to my friend's boyfriend (whom he had never met by the way) and was happy as a little lark about it. Since then, he's taken a couple of steps here and there by himself. He is going to be everywhere in NO time. He's growing up on me. But I am so thankful he is a happy, healthy, little walker!

He loves wearing sunglasses!

Walking to my friend's boyfriend haha!

The pictures are blurry because we were so excited we forgot to turn the flash on the camera ha!

Have a blessed day!
